Principal's Message

Welcome to Housman Elementary School, the proud home of the Mustangs.

As the school's principal, I firmly believe that Every Child can achieve their goals through hard work and perseverance. Our faculty and staff are committed to providing an exceptional academic experience while fostering an environment that stimulates curiosity and a love for learning. Our students develop the Core Characteristics of a T-2-4 Ready Graduate as we strive towards our shared vision of T-2-4 and a bright and successful future.

Our school community provides students with an education that allows them to reach their full potential. Our educational philosophy encourages Limitless Curiosity, which means we create an atmosphere that supports all learners. We believe in the power of partnership with parents and prioritize parent involvement. I encourage you to meet with your child's teacher, follow their academic progress, and help them with homework to show that school is an important aspect of their lives.

Parents are also encouraged to attend school events during the school year including Literacy Night, Math/Science/Technology Night and the Health Fair. I can’t wait to see you there!

Our staff is dedicated to supporting you and your child. We will provide you with the necessary information regarding academics, attendance, discipline, and other important topics via our school website, paper communications, phone calls, social media, weekly classroom newsletters and the district website. Communication is a vital component of our educational experience, and we urge you to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office with any questions or concerns you may have.

The school website contains essential information and should be used in conjunction with the SBISD Student Handbook. Please take the time to read both thoroughly, and if you have any questions or concerns that are not addressed in the handbook, do not hesitate to contact the school. Our success depends on the idea of teamwork, and by working together, we’ll ensure success for our learners.

We take great pride in our Mustangs and encourage them to reach for the stars. With our shared commitment to education, we are confident that we will have a successful year. So let us continue to encourage each other to do our best and be the best we can be.

Go, Mustangs!
